Due to professional commitments, William Morgan Sheppard will not be able to attend our Tampa event. Mr. Sheppard is currently working on a feature film and was unable to alter his shooting schedule. He has graciously agreed to sign a limited number of photos which will be available at the "Vulcan Trading Post". We hope he will be able to join us at a future event.
For those who purchased photo ops, they are fully refundable or transferable to any of the other "bonus guest" photo ops.
We are thrilled to announce that Jennifer Lien has graciously agreed to step in as William Morgan Sheppard's replacement!
Gary Graham. Best known for his starring role as Detective Matt Sikes in the television series Alien Nation (1989-1990), which was followed by the TV movies Alien Nation: Dark Horizon (1994), Alien Nation: Body and Soul (1995), Alien Nation: Millennium (1996), Alien Nation: The Enemy Within (1996), and Alien Nation: The Udara Legacy (1997). Star Trek fans probably know him best from his more recent guest-starring roles on Star Trek: Enterprise as the recurring character Ambassador Soval, a Vulcan ambassador to Earth. He also guest-starred on Star Trek: Voyager (1995), playing Ocampan community leader Tanis in the season 2 episode "Cold Fire". He plays a new role, Ragnar, in the fan production Star Trek: Of Gods and Men. - Appearing Saturday and Sunday for autographs and photos.
Confirmed "Bonus Guest" - Catherine Hicks has a huge list of credits in both television and film. We all loved her as the lovely, intelligent, skeptical, yet deeply devoted cetacean biologist, Dr. Gillian Taylor in the film Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. In 1996 when she was cast as Annie Camden on The WB's family drama 7th Heaven (opposite fellow Star Trek alum Stephen Collins) she gained what is arguably her most famous role. 7th Heaven was picked up by The CW Television Network for 11th seasons, making it the longest-running family drama on TV. - Appearing Saturday and Sunday for autographs and photos.
Confirmed "Bonus Guest" - Tony Todd has appeared in more than 100 screen and television films, and has played opposite many major stars in Hollywood. His movie credits include: Platoon, Night of the Living Dead, Candyman, The Crow, The Rock, Wishmaster the Final Destination series, and Minotaur. He is also noted by the Star Trek fandom for playing Worf's brother Kurn on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He also had guest roles as the Alpha Hirogen in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager and the adult Jake Sisko in the award-winning Deep Space Nine episode "The Visitor". His other television appearances include a recurring role on Boston Public and guest appearances on Law & Order, Homicide: Life on the Street, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena Warrior Princess as Cecrops, The X-Files, Smallville, Angel, 24, Charmed, Stargate SG-1, Andromeda, and in Chuck. - Appearing Saturday and Sunday for autographs and photos.
Confirmed "Bonus Guest" - Dean Stockwell - Fans of the science fiction television series Quantum Leap will know supporting and character actor Dean Stockwell as the scene-stealing, cigar chomping, dry-witted, and cryptic hologram Al. But his acting career spans decades. Mr. Stockwell made his screen debut at the age of 9 in MGM’s Anchors Aweigh (1945). With almost 200 screen credit to his name, most notably in David Lynch's Dune and later in Blue Velvet, it was his performance as Mafia boss Tony "the Tiger" Russo in the comedy Married to the Mob which earned him an Academy Award nomination in 1988. Stockwell continues making frequent film and television appearances most recently as John Cavil, aka Number One, in the SyFy series Battlestar Galactica.- Appearing Saturday and Sunday for autographs and photos.
Confirmed "Bonus Guest" - Sally Kellerman starred as the infamous Hot Lips Houlihan in Robert Altman’s M*A*S*H, one of the most popular feature films of all time for which she was nominated for both an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award. She had a memorable role as Dr. Elizabeth Dehner in the second filmed pilot episode of Star Trek, entitled "Where No Man Has Gone Before", opposite Gary Lockwood and William Shatner. More recently, she has been in Back to School, American Virgin, Boynton Beach Club and, making a somewhat quirky appearance as herself, leading a cult in The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman. Kellerman has as a cameo in Amy Heckerling's I Could Never Be Your Woman and teamed up with her husband, Jonathan D. Krane, plus Dedee Pfeiffer and Dylan and Cole Sprouse in A Modern Twain Story: The Prince and the Pauper. “Sally", the new album from Sally Kellerman was released on February 10, 2009. One of the most recognizable voices in the world of film, television and voice-over, Sally maintains her signature sound in the recording studio and the result is a richly layered album, mixing jazzy blues and adult standards with a touch of soulful rock. See below for details on a special Friday evening event "Sally - An evening with Sally Kellerman", where she will perform tracks from her latest CD. - Appearing Saturday and Sunday for autographs and photos.
Confirmed "Bonus Guest" - Gary Lockwood is best known for his role as astronaut Dr. Frank Poole in 2001: A Space Odyssey. A former stunt performer, Lockwood's first film work was as stand-in for Anthony Perkins, with whom he appeared on camera in 1960's Tall Story. Before his unfortunate space ride in 2001, Lockwood starred on the network TV series Follow the Sun (1961) and The Lieutenant (1963); shortly afterwards, Lockwood starred in another NBC television series called The Kraft Mystery Theater, also known as Crisis, in an episode titled "Connery's Hands". He was cast opposite Sally Kellerman, with whom he would again appear in a Star Trek episode called "Where No Man Has Gone Before" as Helmsman Gary Mitchell, and Kellerman as the ship's psychiatrist Dr. Elizabeth Dehner, who both develop super powers after being jolted and knocked unconscious by an unknown electrical force. - Appearing Saturday and Sunday for autographs and photos.
To celebrate 44 years of Star Trek®
Artist -Tye Bourdony is a name some of you out there may be familiar with. A life-long sci-fi fan, Tye is also a free-lance cartoonist and a convention circuit regular, best known for his 'The Lighter Side of Sci-Fi' comic strip, which pokes fun at everything from 'Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century' to 'Star Trek', from 'Star Wars' to 'Battlestar Gallactica', often mixing and matching series and stars to create bizarre and often hilarious cartoons - even 'The Jetsons' has been known to make a shoe-in. Creating sci-fi satires for over ten years now, Tyes' work has been published in several magazines such as Starlog, Parsec Magazine, The Star Trek Communicator, Cracked and most recently Sci-Fi Magazine just to name a few. We are thrilled to announce the release to Tye's first book "The Lighter Side of Sci-fi - The Complete Collection.
Author - Glenda C. Finkelstein has a wide and varied career as a writer having published song lyrics, human-interest articles, poems, short stories, novels, and screenplays. Her interest in writing was not just a happenstance having a great-grandfather who was a wonderful poet, and aunts and uncles who nurtured her imagination. Inspired by the legendary J.R.R. Tolkien, this art form was a natural course for her to take. She has written one historical novel, but her heart lies mostly with the Science Fiction and Fantasy genre’s where her imagination can soar unhindered. Her writing has won her several awards, and is branching off into new uncharted territories. Her latest novel, “Nemesis Returns,” was published by Aisling Press and marks her sixth book. In addition to her writing, she has ventured into the arena of acting. She voices six of her female characters in the audio adaptation of her novel, “Nemesis Rising,”. The audio version of “The Edge of The Universe” is currently available for podcast on her website at www.glendas-books.com. She also took on the starring role of, Angel Gibbs, in the 33-minute short subject film, “Perfect Copy,” for which she wrote the screenplay. It was nominated for Best Dramatic Short at the Melbourne Independent Filmakers Festival in November 2007.
Musical Guest - Sci-Fried - Formed in early 2008 out of a love for science fiction and rock music, they began writing parodies of popular songs with the flavor of their favorite movies and TV shows. Once they began performing live at conventions and other venues, they noticed that people really liked what they were doing. This led to cutting a demo CD for free distribution. Demand for their first CD was overwhelming. They soon found themselves in the studio working on two new projects: a brand new, all-parody album “Ramming Speed”, and a debut all-original album “Geeks Unite”. Sci-Fried will be performing at Vulcan Events Sci-Fi Con as part of their TOUR 2010: The Year We Make Con-Tact. Bringing their music to the people it is intended for, Sci-Fried is a rock band that is influenced by fans of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. - Appearing Saturday evening 8:00 PM! Free admission to anyone with a convention ticket (including those that have a Sunday only ticket). Visit Sci-Fried at www.Sci-Friedband.com.
The DeLorean Time Machine as seen in the film “Back to the Future” will be appearing at Vulcan Events in Tampa Florida on April 30-May 2, 2010. The vehicle will be there celebrating the 25th Anniversary of “Back to the Future” and raising funds and awareness for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
The BTTF.com DeLorean Time Machine is a faithful working replica, built by husband and wife team Oliver and Terry Holler of Myrtle Beach, S.C. to match the original. It is an extension of their enthusiasm for the Back to the Future films and features the famous ‘Flux Capacitor’ and functional time circuit displays. Their DeLorean Time Machine has toured three countries as an ambassador for the officially sanctioned web site BTTF.com, which promotes the Back to the Future™ brand and careers of its cast & crew through various online ventures and trade show appearances. The vehicle has been featured in national publications and music videos, won numerous awards and has even appeared with many of the creators and stars from the hit movie. This replica ‘star car’ stays busy on the road, as the Hollers are members of TeamFox and use the DeLorean to raise funds and awareness for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Photos of you in the time machine will be available for a small donation.
Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Poster Available at the Vulcan Events Trading Post!
2010 marks the 25th Anniversary of this movie that sent fans zooming back in time via a DeLorean time machine. To recognize the occasion, a limited edition poster will be available, made possible through the efforts of Stephen Clark from BTTF.com.
This original work by artist Oliver Holler features leading characters Doctor Emmett Brown, Marty McFly, Mr. Strickland, Lorraine Baines, George McFly, Biff Tannen, and Jennifer Parker. Dave McFly also makes a cameo.
In an age where computer-driven design has ended the Neoclassic illustration wave prevalent during the 80’s when ‘Back to the Future’ emerged, painted posters have become a dying art. Following the distinctive artwork of Drew Struzan, who created the original poster for the film back in 1985, artist Oliver Holler used traditional techniques in producing this new work to properly pay tribute to the 25th Anniversary of ‘Back to the Future.’ Acrylic paints and colored pencils were applied to cold press illustration board, resulting in a work rich with texture and hand forged line to bring the iconic figures to life.
The premium printed lithograph, measures 18”x24” on 100lb gloss book stock with a deluxe aqueous coating. A limited edition of 1000 was produced on the highest quality, state-of-the-art Heidelberg offset press. Each poster is hand numbered and signed by the artist.
All profits from the poster go to TeamFox, of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Vulcan Events to make history!
In cooperation with the STARFLEET chapter USS Shooting Star, we will be attempting a GUINESS BOOK WORLD RECORD! We are attempting the record of "the largest gathering of people dressed as Star Trek characters".
Costume requirements are fairly simple.
#1 All participants must be wearing costumes representing characters from the Star Trek universe and extended canon.
#2. Characters or alien races that have not appeared in official Star Trek canon releases (including television series, motion pictures, novels and comic books) are not permitted.
Please try to make your costumes as accurate as possible to ensure that they will be counted. Anyone is eligible to participate. Even if you are not attending the convention, you are welcome to participate in the world record attempt. We begin the count at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning at the Tampa Doubletree Hotel Westshore. The entire process should take no more than 1 hour. Don't worry con attendees, we've scheduled this around our busy convention schedule so you wont miss out on any of the convention activities! Round up your clubs, friends, & family! Show the world that the Florida Trek fans are the best, most enthusiastic fans in the world!
In order to gauge how many will participate, please contact Johnothan L. Babb of USS Shooting Star and let us know how many in your group will be participating. Any questions or concerns can also be directed to Mr. Babb at the addresses below.
We look forward to making history!
